Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore 

Originally a solicitor in private practice, Matt has operated for over 15 years as a law firm consultant and trainer specialising in marketing, business planning and risk management.  He was part of the Business Operations Sub-group that contributed to the review process leading to the production of the Code of Conduct and was for many years the principal trainer for the Law Society in its Lexcel scheme.  His publications include Quality Management for Law Firms, (2001) and the Lexcel Office Procedures Manual (4th edition, 2007), both of which were published by Law Society Publishing.

Rupert Kendrick

Rupert Kendrick

Rupert was for many years a partner in a medium sized law firm in the Home Counties. After a ten year spell in legal publishing, he was awarded a Masters degree in Advanced Legal Practice (Legal Practice Management) which examined the implications for law firms marketing themselves on the Internet. He is an accredited Lexcel consultant.

His book Managing Cyber-Risks (Law Society Publishing, 2002) examines the key risks, solutions and risk management strategies that law firms need to address in providing legal advice and information over the Internet. He writes widely for a number of periodicals on IT and Internet issues for law firms, edits the Web4Law quarterly bulletin Managing Risk and is legal editor of the E-commerce Handbook (Gee Publishing)

 Simon Bray

 Simon Bray

Simon Bray has a wealth of management experience within the legal profession, both as a consultant and as a senior manager. From a background of sales and marketing within the legal publishing industry, Simon moved into consultancy in the mid-1980s, providing law firms with advice on marketing and business development. Simon later advised over 40 law firms in successful bids for Franchise accreditation as well as supporting Investors in People and ISO 9000 projects.

Simon was also employed as Operations Director at Nelsons, one of the largest firms in the East Midlands, during a period of rapid and substantial growth. During this period, he was responsible for overall management of the firm's IT, Quality and Facilities departments, and held specific responsibility for day -to-day management of one of the firm's principal offices. More latterly, Simon has been Chambers Director for the Chambers of Sir Desmond de Silva QC, a Temple-based set of chambers specialising in Crime.

Nigel McEwen

Having qualified in 1978 Nigel joined Tarlo Lyons in 1986, taking over the role of managing partner in 1992. He subsequently oversaw substantial changes within the practice, leading to the accolade of the firm being named 'most enterprising law firm of the year' in 2000. The firm was recognised under Lexcel in 2003. Nigel brings a wealth of experience to all practice management areas, with partner management issues a particular strength.

Charlotte Points

Charlotte spent over 10 years as head of Personnel and Training at a large regional law firm and is now a consultant and trainer on a wide range of personnel and HR development issues. She has a particular expertise in assessments for recruitment and promotion.
